This common coastal variety, commonly known as Lamu mango, is now found all along the coast and has adapted well to medium altitude environments.

Ngowe is the most well-known mango fruit in the region.
It has a distinctive hook-like beak at the apex and is big, oblong, and thin.
When fully mature, the fruit changes color from pale green to a vibrant yellow to orange.
The bright yellow meat is of great quality, almost fibre-free, melts easily, and has no turpentine flavor.

The typical fruit is 14 cm long, 9.5 cm wide, and weighs between 425 and 600 grams.[/ts_side_content][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner offset=”vc_col-md-6″][ts_side_image display_notebox=”show” notebox=”
